Here are the bloopers from the Catching Creation Volume 3 DVD...Enjoy!
Me and the CC team decided to go hiking on this first week of Autumn to see what we could find. We learned that snakes thermoregulate by basking, dogs by panting and me by sweating...a lot.
Have you enjoyed the new Catching Creation videos incorporating the rest of the team? Would you like to see more of them?
Leave us a comment and let us know where you'd like to see us film next, what topics or animals we should cover, what pranks we should pull on each other and anything else you'd like to see us do.
Spring Has Sprung!
Isaiah 40:8 (NIV) "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever."
What’s That Writing Spider Trying To Say? Writing spiders have always been somewhat of an autumn fascination of mine. Ever since I was a kid I have always enjoyed spying on their plump yellow and black bodies clinging to their sticky webs. My grandmother’s garden and flowerbeds have always been prime real estate for my arachnid friends. They have always indicated a closing of one season and a reminder of cooler days to come. The zigzag “writing” found in their webs have also always intrigued me. What is this stigmatized animal trying to say, I have often wondered.
When I look at this animal through the lens of scripture it’s easy enough for me to see Christ in even the most offensive of God’s creation, the spider. Romans 1:20 says “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” The writing spider is sometimes called the “St. Andrew’s Cross Spider” because of the way it pairs its legs and appears to be in the shape of a cross. The zigzag pattern of x’s in the web draws your attention immediately and brings the focus to the cross. As the Apostle Paul says in Romans 1:20, we are without excuse because the glory of God is all around us. We just have to open our eyes.
